Relationships are hard! Why not just surrender to the idea that we (adults) struggle in our relationships? Pride? Ego? Fear?
We tell stories about crazy women (and men), about our psycho exe’s. We write them off as emotional wrecks … narcissists … selfish.
We label them. We shame them. We judge them when we are not equipped to deal with behaviors that we don’t understand.
If we can see any behavior we consider crazy or bizarre, we probably have that same behavior.
Spot it, you got it!
I have more than one bizarre behaviors. I have done bizarre things in my life and in my relationships more than once.
I have thrown away my dignity, integrity and destroyed my reputation and it was all fueled by fear and pain, and in the name of love.
I knew my behavior was unhealthy, but I could not stop.
It felt as if I was trapped inside my own body and mind and had no control over my actions.
I could see what I was doing. I could even despise my actions. But I could not stop.
It’s hard to see clearly when we are caught up in the cycle of unhealthy relationships and denial.
Waking up is hard.
It requires doing more than just talking about our issues and identifying problems.
The disruptive storms we create for ourselves throughout years, can propel us out of the dark and crazy hole of fear and into a sane, consciously aware world of self-acceptance and self-love.
Yes, It is possible!
