Are You Living with Ghosts in Your Relationship?

I am eavesdropping on a conversation where a woman is talking about how much “baggage,” her fiancee brought to their relationship.
What she’s talking about is so juicy that I couldn’t help but get interested. So I said, “Excuse me, I don’t mean to eavesdrop (which is not true), but I can’t help but overhear what you’re talking about.” She said, “It’s alright, the seats are so close.” I asked her to tell me what she meant by “baggage.”
Of course, I had an idea of what she meant, but I wanted her to explain it to me. “His baggage is all his f*@king ISSUES,” she said, in a tone that was unmistakable, hurt and disappointment under the anger.
“His issues with his Ex, his son—-his money issues. Our relationship is full of HIS issues.”
Then I asked her, “What do you think would help?” (I’m always interested to learn what people do to resolve their issues).
Without taking a breath, she said, “He needs to let go of some of this S&*T from his past, all these ‘ghosts.’ We got GHOSTS in our bed, under the bed and in his wallet.” I said, “I totally understand” and thanked her for sharing with me.
